Description
- MOTS-C (Mitochondrial Open Reading Frame of the 12S rRNA Type-c) is a 16-amino-acid peptide encoded within the mitochondrial genome. Discovered in 2015, it represents a novel class of mitochondrial-derived peptides (MDPs) involved in intercellular and inter-organ metabolic communication. Published research has investigated its effects on AMPK activation, folate-methionine cycle regulation, fatty acid oxidation, glucose metabolism, and exercise-induced metabolic adaptation. MOTS-c is studied as a potential retrograde signaling molecule linking mitochondrial function to nuclear gene expression. This 20mg lyophilized preparation is intended strictly for in vitro research and laboratory investigation. Not for human consumption.
